Rocky Mountain National Park from Trail Ridge Road. September 2016
Does anyone really care how cold it was when you took a photo? Not really. They’re interested in looking at the photo. Does it matter if I tell you that I was cold and hungry when I took the photo above? Do you care that it’s not just one photo, but a series of photos that were stitched together in Photoshop to make the picture above. Again, not really.

Thunderstorm over Longmont. September 2016
This photo was taken from US Route 36 near Boulder, CO. I stood just off the road and took the picture as many cars went by. The cars were traveling quite fast and buffeted me as they went past. If was quite nervous about standing there, but I stayed until I got a reasonable representation in my photo.
Does any of that change the photo or how you feel about it. It’s one of my favorites because the cloud looks quite ominous and it’s easy to see the rain coming down. It’s the picture that matters, not the way that I took the photo.
